题目内容:
阅读下列短文,回答题。I have a cousin,who died this month.
Georgie,as I used to call him, although he would have turned sixty soon, suffered brain damage at birth. He stuttered (结巴), never graduated from high school, and worked at a store called The Jubilee. He loved it there, driving through the early morning darkness to open the place, to make sure the shopping carts were all in order and to greet the first customers of the day.
Although we grew up less than a mile away from each other,we were never close. As a kid, I was impatient(不耐烦) with his slow speech. And then I went off to college and another life, seeing him only once a year or so whenever I came home and stopped by the store to pick up some milk.
I'm sorry about that now: sorry I didn't make more of an effort to get to know him better.
He had his cats, his cigars, and the sandwich he'd pick up on his way home from work. Just a few days before he died,he asked if a co-worker could bring him one to the hospital.
My room, my brother and 1 visited him there on Christmas Day,but almost immediately he told us we'd better get home. As usual, he was worried about the weather.
They say that the family is often the last to really know its members. Maybe they are right. People told me stories of a man I never knew.
There were people who said he knew which shopping cart they wanted.
And there was the woman at the post office who said he'd often bring her cookies(饼干). "You need your energy. " he'd said.
He was the first person many saw in the morning, and to them that was a great comfort.
They said it will be very strange not to see him standing there by the shop's front door. Now I miss my cousin Georgie.
